France is firmly sticking to its commitments to military support for Ukraine, in particular with regard to the transfer of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft. The training of personnel for these airplanes will last several months.

French ambassador to Ukraine Gael Vesierre said this while commenting on the implementation of the security agreement signed by the countries five months ago, according to Ukrinform.

French Ambassador to Ukraine Gaël Vesier said that the agreement between France and Ukraine envisages not only the transfer of Mirage 2000-5 airplanes, but also the delivery of Scalp and Aster missiles for SAMP/T air defense systems. He also noted that French Caesar artillery systems already supplied to Ukraine would be added to this.

Vesier emphasized that France’s commitments to transfer Mirage 2000-5 aircraft will be fulfilled. Although the details of the agreement were not made public, he emphasized that everything was taking place in close coordination with the Ukrainian military leadership and the preparations would last several months.

On June 6, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the transfer of Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine and the training of pilots in France.

It was recently reported that Ukraine and Turkey are working together to develop an engine for the KAAN fighter jet.
